We loved this place - the manager (I believe his name is Nalaka) was so friendly and helpful. We stayed here twice - and the beginning and end of our trip, so it was lovely to come back. (He wasn't around so much on our 2nd stay and we missed the chilled vibe that he gives the place). Breakfast is brilliant - delicious eggs - and also amazing bread (unusual in Sri-Lanka). There is strong air-con and we appreciated the tea and coffee facilities. Lovely clean and refreshing pool.

We have just had the most amazing stay at Villa Kapuru. The room was large, clean and had really good water pressure and hot water! The pool was lovely to relax in, the whole place was very clean(had people cleaning to constantly the whole time we were there) and it’s located very centrally, but tucked away down a side street so it’s very quiet. The owner is the kindest person with a heart of gold who went above and beyond to help us-he is also passionate about helping animals which we absolutely loved. He has rescued around 250 cats and 14 dogs in total! There were many friendly cats and two dogs here-who all loved a pat but were polite enough to chill until we approached them. The breakfast was an added bonus-very tasty and lovely to eat by the pool! They own a restaurant down the road called Centella Bistro and we ate there on our last night-I wish we went earlier because it was really nice food. Ive travelled a lot and stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is probably the best one I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, and I would return to Sri Lanka simply to stay here again.

A large room, with good air-conditioning and a surprisingly modern bathroom! The pool was lovely, it was a shame we didn't get to use it more! Breakfast was lovely, we had yoghurt with honey, fruit and then a choice of eggs- both of us are generally quite fussy with eggs but they were cooked just as we like it! We found all the staff friendly and polite, and we particularly enjoyed talking to one of the owners to learn a bit more about his background and the stories behind each of the animals. The location is good, just under 10 mins walk to the beach, there are also some restaurants literally on the same road if you don't fancy the walk! We went to the owners restaurant in town, which we really enjoyed. The stars of the show, are of course, the rescues (2 well behaved dogs plus cats and kittens). We had a fantastic time and have re booked to end our trip back here!

Beautifully designed with different areas to sit, be by the pool, watch the sunrise and the wildlife over the canal immediately to the rear. A proper oasis. There are a number of very friendly rescued cats and two dogs who are lovingly cared for and contribute a lovely presence. Breakfast is excellent and they also run a restaurant up near the beach with excellent Sri Lankan food on the menu. This is a very good place to acclimatise after a long flight and to find your feet in Sri Lanka. The Sri a Lankan owner has lived in the UK for many years so language is no issue. They can arrange trips and onward travel and are very able to give sound advice. Very professionally run hotel. We loved Villa Kapuru-it was warm, welcoming and very friendly. We stayed three nights in all, at the beginning and end of our holiday in Sri Lanka.

We really enjoyed staying here, so much that we booked it again for our last night. You can’t tell you’re in a busy city as it’s located right in front of a tranquil stream. The pool was nice to use and a welcome reprieve from the heat. The rooms were clean and spacious, however the real highlight of our stay was the breakfast. The team went above and beyond to accommodate our vegan diets and made the best breakfast we had on our trip to Sri Lanka. We also loved all the animals, and were so happy to be able to support a business that takes in strays in need.

Very nice accommodation with super friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool and good breakfast. Beach, restaurants and supermarket are all reachable within a short walk. We arrived in the middle of the night and the check in was no problem at all. The cats and dogs living there are not obtrusive - they're just being there minding their own business :D We loved to see how well they are being taken care of! We also booked a private driver to our next destination at the hotel which was by far the best offer.

A lovely place to stay. The Owners are so welcoming - it’s a pleasure to stay there. They really went out of their way to help us and made an early breakfast for us. Rooms are spotless and great value. They have lots of cats and a couple of dogs they’ve adopted (so be ready for a big welcome!) but that’s part of the charm. If you don’t like animals then maybe it’s not the place for you. They also have a restaurant a short distance away which is excellent . And a nice pool too

Nalaka and Denis are wonderful hosts. They have built a lovely stay where you feel at home. They can arrange a boat tour, a taxi, and an Ayurvedic treatment. They also run a bistro (Centella Bistro) where we had our first Introduction to Sri Lankan curries. Nalaka is very passionate about his cats and dogs he rescued from the streets; it's heartwarming to see how well he treats them and how much they adore him. There is no need to worry: All cats and dogs are vaccinated for Rabies and they won't bite. The breakfast is also nice: we got yoghurt with honey, fruits, fresh bread, jam, and eggs.

The most modern and incredible place we stayed in our time in Sri Lanka. What a way to finish our tour. Beds super comfy. Incredible bathroom with electric shower with an actual screen (not done in Sri Lanka). Hand towels each as well as bath towel (again not done in Sri Lanka). Really kind and lovely manager. So close to restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. Beautiful view over the lagoon. Was worried about the cats and dogs mentioned in reviews but are super cute and not at all overwhelming.

Attractive hotel in Negombo with stylish bedroom and poolside area. The owners were friendly and helpful with things to do and where to eat. I was in need of a break from travelling around and wasn't a fan of the beach so it was really good to have the pool. The pool area was kept clean and nice touches like flowers and buddha statue.
